Call me a Procrastinator...

I've been meaning to write this blog post since the end of January, but alas, it's already March. I rarely make New Year's Resolutions, but this year I thought I would give it a shot and see how it went.

No, blogging more was not on my resolutions list...for good reason - obviously, I'm thinking it will be more of a priority next year (after I finish grad school).

This year I made my first resolution early on in 2012, my goal: to not take more than two days off of working out the entire year. My progress to-date: I have successfully not taken more than two days off in a row since Jan. 1, 2012. That's not to say all of my workouts have been hard core calorie blasters, but I figure if I keep moving and don't take too much time off then I'll be in pretty good shape all year long.

Resolution #2 wasn't established until Feb. 1 - this year, I signed up for DailyMile - a nifty website that keeps track of your workouts and currently works better than my memory at logging my miles. I wanted to make it through the month of January and set a reasonable mileage goal for the year before outlining the goal of my resolution. According to Daily Mile, in January I covered a little over 70 miles. From there I decided that I wanted to aim for covering 750 miles before 2013.

As you can see, my progress dipped in February - granted, it is a shorter month (and the bitter cold didn't help my motivation on the dreadmill), but I am off to a steady start in March with the help of some ideal weather. But, to meet my goal I'm going to have to step up my game and sign-up for some races.

Planned Races: Participating in one of the LPR legs of the Colfax Marathon Relay on May 20.

Check out my new DailyMile widget and stay tuned for training updates - hopefully more frequently!
